Loofah sponges come from the loofah plant, a member of the cucumber family.
When the plant has reached maturity, the skin and seeds are removed to reveal the loofah fiber. The loofah fiber is then washed to remove any remaining seeds and husk. Once the loofah fiber is completely clean, the fiber is completely dried out.
Loofah is a natural sponge that scrubs away dead skin cells and gives soap a unique look. When loofah is dry it is quite hard and brittle but once it has eaten the water it softens and has a great exfoliating texture for the skin. Using loofah soap is very refreshing. Their massage properties are great, whether it be feet, shoulders or any other part of the body, loofah has been proven to relax and soothe every muscle. Loofah is also excellent for its exfoliating properties and is often used to shed dry skin. Our exfoliating soaps are hand crafted, made from the highest quality aromatic soaps and natural loofah. Please note that a traditional soap cutter MAY NOT WORK WITH THIS SOAP, but a sharp (especially warm) knife will do the job.
